Thom Petty

Thom grew up in the rural North-west and now lives and farms in the Staffordshire Moorlands. After working as a doctor in the NHS, he subsequently trained as an actor at LAMDA and has worked in film, TV, theatre and audio. As a writer/director he is building up a series of work exploring marginalised lives in rural settings, particularly the intersection of queer and older characters. His 2023 BFI-funded short film Ticker was an Iris Prize finalist and broadcast on Film4/All4. It screened widely at BAFTA and Academy Award qualifying festivals on the international film circuit and won multiple awards.
