Biography
Yasmin Godo is a Director/Writer from South London, UK; centring narrative stories that champion "other" and underrepresented groups (Disabled, Queer, Diaspora stories). With credits for TV Broadcasted Channel4 Random Acts, Musical short film "(Un)fit To Work"; commissioned in celebration of 40 years since the channels launch. A BAFTA BIFA & OSCAR qualifying selection, having screened in USA (SUPERFEST Disabilities fest '23 - San Francisco Bay area), Europe (AfryKamera Festiwal '24 - POLAND, MiX Fest Milan LGBTQ+ '23) UK (BFI FLARE '23/24, OSKA BRIGHT '24, Wolverhampton '24 - AWARD WINNER, Foyle Festival '24- Ireland, Day Dream Cinema Fest '24, - New Castle Upon Tyne, Manchester MCR 24') & Africa (Kigale-Kaze '24 - Rwanda). Yasmin is one of the We Are Parable #Momentum Sony Television Pictures x Channel4 mentee cohort 2023/24 & Sara Putt Foundation Crew member. Working towards her debut Feature of "(Un)fit To Work" using the short film as a proof-of-concept. This comes after nearly a decade of 1st Assistant Director work.
