Biography

Natalie makes films that blend documentary and fiction. Her hybrid short, The VEILED CITY, premiered at Berlinale and was funded by BFI Doc Society. It screened at over 40 film festivals including Sundance London, Palm Springs, Uppsala, and LSFF and won 8 awards, including the British Short Film of the Year at the London Critics Circle Awards and the Oscar-qualifying Mikeldi at Zinebi Bilbao. Additionally, it was nominated for Best Short at the IDAs and was a Short Film Candidate for the European Film Awards. Her previous short, BEYOND THE NORTH WINDS, premiered at Visions du Reel and went onto screen at Karlovy Vary and Sundance London among others. It was nominated for Best Student Film at the IDAs. Another of her films, After the Silence, was shortlisted for a Grierson. She is an alumna of Berlinale Talents and the NFTS MA in Directing Documentary where her studies were supported by a John Brabourne Award. Natalie is from British-Colombian heritage. She is currently developing her debut feature supported by BFI Doc Society.
