Sheree Folkson

Sheree is a versatile and creative director who has worked in almost all genres of drama. Sheree originally trained as an actress at LAMDA and went on to become a BBC graduate trainee. She was a founder member of BBC2's nightly arts programme THE LATE SHOW, where as a producer/director, she played a leading role in establishing the programme's original tone and visual style. Other documentaries she made while at the BBC include THE RAFT OF THE MEDUSA, which she produced and directed, and which was acclaimed by Christopher Dunkley in the Financial Times as "the best arts documentary of the year" and won Best Documentary Film at the Montreal Film Festival and an episode of the documentary series MODERN TIMES. Also while at the BBC she directed, produced and co-wrote the drama A ROYAL SCANDAL starring Richard E. Grant, the BAFTA nominated THE TRIALS OF OZ for BBC2's PERFORMANCE, starring Hugh Grant and Alfred Molina. She has since directed many TV dramas and comedies in the UK and US including: BRIDGERTON, THE GREAT, AMERICAN HORROR STORY, CLAWS, WILL TRENT, OUR HOUSE, SEX/LIFE, TOUCHING EVIL, the RTS winner THE YOUNG PERSON'S GUIDE TO BECOMING A ROCK STAR, BURN IT which won her the Director's Guild of GB Best Director Award; the highly acclaimed CASANOVA for BBC and Masterpiece Theatre in USA written by Russell T Davies, starring David Tennant and Peter O’Toole; the Emmy nominated MY FAMILY AND OTHER ANIMALS for BBC 1 and PBS, starring Imelda Staunton and Miranda Hart; the second episode of UGLY BETTY, HIT AND MISS starring Chloe Sevigny, DR WHO, CALL THE MIDWIFE, THE SCANDALOUS LADY W starring Natalie Dormer,  BRITANNIA, 12 MONKEYS, THE TICK, IMPOSTERS, ANOTHER LIFE, PENNY DREADFUL: CITY OF ANGELS.

Sheree directed the feature film THE DECOY BRIDE a romantic comedy starring Kelly MacDonald and David Tennant currently on Amazon Prime.
