Biography

I've been in the broadcast industry for more than 20 years. While I have worked in many roles during that time, directing is my true passion.  My main focus for the past decade has been in children's drama. I won a Royal Television Society Award for directing and producing the S4C preschool series Nico Nog. 
I have directed and produced countless hours of TV for the BBC where I worked as a staff member for more than a decade. During that time I directed a short film series for BBC1 called 'Escalator Short Films' which went on to win several regional awards. I also won regional awards for both my short documentaries 'In the Footsteps of the Dodo' and 'The War Tunnels' for the BBC. I still work with many of my old BBC teams, most recently I directed one unit on a documentary about he occupation of Jersey for BBC1 'Occupation Baby'. 
I also have experience in directing live TV and directed the BBC1 regional new op for several years.

Shot in Mauritius and the surrounding islands for BBC TV/BBC World the 3 part series explores the work of the Mauritius Wildlife Association which was inspired by Gerald Durrell. He was one of the founding fathers of conservation and Mauritius was the place he saved the first species from extinction - the Pink Pigeon. A two week shoot in Mauritius and additional material gathered in the UK. 2004
