Biography

Wendy is a British-Hong Kongese Writer/Director based in London. She is a member of BAFTA Connect and has been selected as part of the Directors UK Inspire 2024-2025 cohort. She is being mentored by Director Tom Vaughan (Doctor Foster, Victoria, The Flight Attendant) and is shadowing him on ‘I, Jack Wright’ (BBC/UKTV). She was also previously mentored by Directors Isabelle Sieb (Vigil, The Devil’s Hour) and Laura Scrivano (The Lazarous Project, Wedding Season). Wendy's noir musical short film, ‘Who Murdered the Maid?’, which addresses transgender issues, has been nominated for the Royal Television Society Student Television Awards 2021 & the LGBTQI+ Mentorship at Watersprite Film Festival 2021. She also directed the film ‘salt: dispersed’ which is the adaptation of Selina Thompson’s original award-winning one-woman theatre show, commissioned by Battersea Arts Centre & funded by Arts Council England. Her latest short film ‘If You Only Knew’, a story about an out-and-proud British Chinese girl’s struggle in a posh private school, is currently in the festival circuit.
