Biography
Ivan Madeira is an award-winning Director, Writer, and Producer recently hailed by the Toronto Star as part of the Reelworld Film Festival as one of “the next big names of tomorrow.”
Ivan’s debut feature PATTERN (2022) played at Reelworld where he won Outstanding Feature Film Producer. The film also won Best Feature at the Roxbury International Festival in Boston and was nominated Best Feature at the British Urban Film Festival in London. It’s available to stream on Tubi (US), Amazon Prime (UK), and the curated film festival platform Highball TV (Global).
He started with his first dramatic short film GROW UP (2011) becoming his entry into the scene. Organisation CALM officially supported the film, which led it to be featured at BUFF, Cannes Short Film Corner, several other festivals and on UK television (BBC iPlayer, Together TV).
Ivan went on to direct several other shorts and documentaries featuring in festivals, distributed on Apple TV and Bohemian Europhia, music videos and campaigns for charities including VSO and Ricefield Collective.
Alongside his commercial and music video work, he currently holds a development slate with Canadian-based production company Hentucky Productions, including narrative shorts, features, documentaries, and a narrative TV series.
