DIRECTORS UK ANNOUNCES NEW BOARD

12 July 2024

A new Directors UK Board has been elected following a member vote. Joining the board are: Lottie Gammon, Marion Milne, Peter Strachan, Delyth Thomas and Susanna White. Re-elected to the Board are: Abigail Dankwa, Avril Evans, James Hawes, Zoe Hines, Alexander Jacob, Karen Kelly and Carolyn Saunders. All Board members will serve until 2027.

As a membership organisation, Directors UK is made up of screen directors working across different genres, from different backgrounds and with different experiences of the industry. The Board informs and advises the work that the organisation does to support directors and protect the craft of directing, which is why it is vital that it reflects the wealth of expertise of the membership.

Sitting on the Board alongside these working film and TV directors are CEO Andy Harrower, Chief  Financial Officer Jo Bromley, and independent non-executive directors Deborah Stones and Tom  Toumazis MBE

Speaking today, Directors UK CEO Andy Harrower said: “With many of our members not working, or  working much less than they’re used to, it’s undoubtedly a tough time to be a director. With the UK  industry in its current state, nothing is guaranteed – that's why the first-hand experience, knowledge and insight into their craft that our board members bring to the table is so important to what we do  here. Directors UK is the voice for UK screen directors – whether it’s through the royalties we negotiate, collect and distribute, or the work we’re doing to ensure better pay and working conditions for directors – together we will continue to use our voice to improve the working lives of our members.
