Commenting on this year’s nominations, Chair of The Grierson Trust Lorraine Heggessey adds:
The nominations for this year’s Grierson Awards reflect the incredible depth of talent behind such a wide range of outstanding documentaries produced for television, cinemas and digital platforms. Whether they are from established names or breakthrough voices, and whether telling diverse new stories or bringing contemporary insights to a well-trodden subject, they all demonstrate the continuing power of documentary filmmaking to inform, entertain and impact the lives of audiences in the UK and worldwide.
Directors UK sends a huge congratulations to all of our members nominated across the 16 categories. The full list of works nominated can be viewed on The Grierson Trust website.
The winners will be revealed on Monday 9 November at an awards ceremony at Queen Elizabeth Hall in London. More information about the ceremony can be found here.
In addition, the winner of the Sky Documentaries Grierson Hero of the Year Award, which highlights behind-the-scenes talent whose continuous efforts power the art of documentary and factual TV, will be announced next month.
