•  The BBC has appointed journalist and editorial leader Hayley Valentine as its new Director in Scotland, succeeding Steve Carson in the role. (Televisual)

•  Pinewood has announced it will close its TV department in 2025, with productions already booked at the facility being unaffected. Its TV studios are one of the largest film and TV facilities in the UK. (Broadcast)

•  The BBC has apologised to the former Strictly Come Dancing contestant Amanda Abbington, after the broadcaster concluded its review into the actor’s complaints against Giovanni Pernice. (The Guardian)

•  Plans for a £70 million Liverpool development which will include two sound stages have finally been given the greenlight by the local council. (TVB Europe)

•  The shadow home secretary, James Cleverly, has said the BBC should move to a subscription model during a Q&A at the Conservative party's annual conference. (The Guardian)
