Broadcast will launch the Commissioning and Funding Forum this summer, combining insights from the biggest traditional TV players and their emerging online counterparts.
The event will take place on 2 July at BAFTA and keynote sessions will include the BBC’s newly appointed director of television Danny Cohen (pictured), Sky entertainment channels director Stuart Murphy and ITV director of television Peter Fincham. Ben Frow, recently installed as director of programmes at Channel 5, will also be a keynote speaker.
There will be a session about working with YouTube, called Pitch or Partnership?, led by the video-sharing site’s content partnerships manager Rachel Ball. She will discuss YouTube’s partnership with content companies and recent announcement on the launch of subscription services.
Panel sessions on funding, distribution and what content is working online will also take place, with contributors including Wall to Wall chief executive Alex Graham and Fremantle Media International and Kids and Family Entertainment chief executive David Ellender.
There will also be break-out and networking opportunities, providing a chance for attendees to grab face-to-face time with many of the speakers.
