The nominations for the 2021 BAFTA TV and BAFTA TV Craft Awards were announced on Wednesday, and we’re thrilled to see that our members have been recognised across all directing categories.
Directors UK members Xavier Alford (Locked In: Breaking the Silence), James Bluemel (Once Upon a Time in Iraq), Teresa Griffiths (A Life on the Front Line) are all nominated in the Director: Factual category, while members Lenny Abrahamson (Normal People), Sam Miller (I May Destroy You), Benjamin Caron (The Crown) and Steve McQueen (Small Axe) are all nominated for Director: Fiction.
Meanwhile, in the Director: Multi-Camera category, Directors UK members Bridget Caldwell (The Royal British Legion Festival of Remembrance), Marcus Viner (ENO’s Drive & Live: La Bohème) and Nikki Parsons (Strictly Come Dancing) are all nominated for awards.
Finally, congratulations to Directors UK members Jessica Kelly (The Schools that Chain Boys), nominated for Emerging Talent: Factual and Georgi Banks-Davies (I Hate Suzie) and William Stefan Smith (On the Edge: BBW) who are both nominated for Emerging Talent: Fiction!
The BAFTA TV Craft Awards will take place on Monday 24 May, and the BAFTA TV Awards will then be presented on Sunday 6 June.
