BAFTA Craft nominations announced

The nominees for the BAFTA Craft Awards were announced this morning (25th March), which includes the three directing categories amongst the selection.

Starting with Factual, Katharine English has been chosen for Our War, Ben Chanan for his film The Plot To Bring Down Britain’s Planes, John Dower for Bradley Wiggins: A Year In Yellow, and finally, Ben Anthony is nominated for 7/7 One Day in London.

Meanwhile nominated in the Fiction category are Philippa Lowthorpe, director of Call The Midwife, Julian Jarrold (The Girl), Hettie McDonald (Hit And Miss), and Birger Larsen (Murder).

Lastly, in the Multicamera category, Hamish Hamilton is nominated twice, for the opening and the closing ceremonies of the Olympics, whilst Paul Davies is recognised for his work on the Super Saturday edition of the 2012 Games. They will go up against Nikki Parsons, director of Strictly Come Dancing.

Hamilton, who also directed the Super Bowl Half-Time Show, will receive the Special Award at this year’s Craft Awards, which are held on April 28 in London. For a full list of nominees, click here.
