Alexander Jacob

“It has been a real pleasure and a privilege to be a part of Directors UK. The insights I’ve gained as a board member have only reinforced my appreciation for the vital role this organisation plays—far beyond that of a CMO—in representing the rights and interests of directors across both the industrial and political spectrum.

I will continue to support the work of Andy, Karen, and the entire team at Directors UK in any way I can, and I look forward to continuing to benefit from everything the organisation offers me as a director.”

Karen Kelly

“Since joining the Board in 2022, Alex Jacob has been an invaluable presence. A passionate advocate for improving the working conditions and recognition of directors across all genres and career stages, his impact has been especially felt by our members working in continuing drama. His thoughtful engagement, expert knowledge, and diplomatic approach have helped elevate the status and visibility of directors in this field as well as offering support in difficult times.

Alex brings a rare combination of talent, kindness, and commitment and connection. His support for the Board has been deeply appreciated, always generous with his time, perceptive in his contributions, and tireless in his enthusiasm. It’s been a true pleasure to work alongside him.

We are grateful for everything Alex has brought to Directors UK and look forward to staying connected as he continues his own directing journey. We wish him every success.”

Andy Harrower

“It’s been an absolute pleasure to have worked alongside Alex Jacob on the Directors UK Board for the last three years and we are all going to be sad to see him go.

He’s been a real force for change during this time, driven by a strong belief that directors deserve a better deal. Continuing drama directors in particular have benefitted from Alex’s efforts to improve pay and working conditions and I’m sure he will continue to be a voice for many directors working in this area.”
