Coming up on Saturday 2 March (10am - 5pm), Directors UK is pleased to announce a one-day, trauma free workshop for directors at Glasgow Film Festival — teaching persuasive ways to present and pitch film and television projects.
This workshop will explore techniques that help us convey the essentials:
- What are effective ways to talk about the work we passionately want to make?
- What kind of language can we use?
- What are the most important elements to a strong pitch?
- Techniques to engage our listeners
- Performance nerves
- How does pitching get to be fun? (it needs to be).
The workshop is led by David Keating, an award winning, critically acclaimed film director and screenwriter. David has run training for Directors UK; BAFTA; The ICA & Channel 4 - and at film schools and festivals internationally. He currently lectures in film directing at the National Film School in Dublin and continues to direct films and TV.
This is an opportunity to fine-tune your soft skills and get feedback on your pitch within a protected, supportive environment. This training will involve physical and vocal exercises and participants will need to wear comfortable clothing.
To apply, please email [email protected] by Wednesday 20 February — stating your reasons for wanting to participate and what you hope to get out of it, as well as a 100-word description of the project you are intending to pitch. Please note you must have a Glasgow Film Festival Industry Pass to attend.
