We’re pleased to announce that applications have reopened for factual and comedy directors looking to take part in one of our tailored career consultancy groups.
Directors UK is now offering a tailored creative consultancy service for directors who are looking to advance in factual or comedy within both TV and feature film. This service will take the form of small group sessions tailored to enhance director profiles, create an effective showreel and strategise passion projects.
This consultancy will be led by Cynthia De Souza — a freelance talent and development executive with a consistently strong track record, and a proven diversity influencer. She has assessed over 1,000 director showreels and scripts to identify, champion, and produce world-class directors and projects.
Cynthia’s career spans 20 years across the full spectrum of short films, high-end film and TV drama production and development, broadcast drama commissioning, public sector film funds, global commercial film sales markets and much more.
Groups have up to six places and are curated by genre:
Friday 29 November — Factual (including documentary films, non-scripted, fact ent, factual drama, proof of concepts)
Friday 31 January — Comedy (including comedy drama, sitcom, sketch shows, comedy films, shorts / proof of concepts)
All timings TBC.
Points of discussion will include:
- Overview of director’s career background and aspirations moving forward
- Industry challenges to overcome
- Best practices with online profile, including showreel, website, social media.
- Brief pitch of passion project (if applicable) and strategic thinking for funding / commissioning.
