DIRECTORS UK AT THE MEDIA PRODUCTION SHOW

Directors UK, the professional association for British screen directors, is pleased to be partnering with The Media Production Show.
Taking place at the Business Design Centre in London on Thursday 9 - Friday 10 June, The Media Production Show is a unique event for those working in the creative industries, across the genres of television, feature films, documentaries, commercials, music videos, corporate films and more, looking at areas affecting the industry such as content, technology, production, post production, VFX, colourists, content distribution and more.
Directors UK will be hosting the session, Directing UK Dramas for an International Audience on Friday 10 June at 12.00pm (Production Theatre), with directors James Hawes (Penny Dreadful), Saul Metzstein (You, Me and the Apocalypse), Dearbhla Walsh (The Collection), Lewis Arnold (Humans) and Andy De Emmony (Lucky Man). The panel will discuss how international co-productions in drama affect UK shoots. They will be also be discussing what it is like to direct a show that is made for two different broadcasters in different countries, as well as their individual approaches to directing for different audiences. The session will explore how the tensions and multiple demands are managed effectively and what others can learn from this, in addition to learning new ways of working and dealing with the feasibilities and what workable compromise looks like.
Additionally, a session with Hamish Hamilton - one of the UK’s most respected live event producers and directors, and Directors UK member - called International Live Events, Multiple Cameras, will be taking place on Thursday 9 June, at 15.15pm (Keynote Theatre). Hamish will be speaking about his experiences, from shooting the Super Bowl to Beyoncé, and his insight into what it’s like to be a world class multi-camera director.
The Media Production Show has over 60 free-to-attend seminars, across the two days, will be hosted by some of the best talent in the creative industry offering insights into techniques, processes and their thoughts on the future of the creative sectors.
