Biography
Last year, Daniel Battsek (Head of Film4) announced Abid Khan as a ‘Director to watch’ at Barnes Film Festival where his debut feature won Best Film. Abid is a self-taught writer-director who started his film education by working as an usher in a cinema in his teen years. His passion led him to write, produce and direct Granada Nights a feature film set in Spain starring Quintessa Swindell and Antonio Aakeel. His debut feature was selected for Breakthrough by Film London and won numerous festival awards including the prestigious Premios Lorca award for Best Cinematography. Granada Nights was theatrically released in UK and Spain cinemas and has screened in over twenty universities. Abid has participated in several festival panels and has been the only director selected by Adobe for their Creative Change campaign and featured in The Guardian and The Observer. He formed Eyefive Films and continues to tell self-discovery stories focused on diverse characters and cultures.
