Biography

I’m a born storyteller and directing is where I feel most alive!  I have been lucky to have achieved this goal directing top talent in unscripted for more than a decade.

My experience in factual TV has given me a strong understanding of how to create engaging and informative content from pre-production right through to post that meets the needs of a wide audience. I have directed a variety of programmes for the BBC, such as Countryfile, Antiques Roadshow and DIY SOS and worked with strong presenters such as Fiona Bruce, Matt Baker and Nick Knowles and I feel comfortable at the helm. I am also skilled at working with contributors to get the best out of them and crafting stories that are both entertaining and insightful, including filming reconstructions and staging scenes to captivate the audience. My shoots have included directing lighting crews, multiple cameras, dollies, jibs and drones.

More recently I have dipped my toe in scripted and have written and directed a BFI funded drama short called ‘Hats’.  The film is a character-driven 10min film about a Black British woman’s relationship with her ailing West Indian mother through an assortment of hats revealing some culturally complex emotions.  The film won Best First Time Filmmaker at the Alternative Film Festival in Toronto, Canada 2023. Finalist at Stockholm City Film Festival 2023 and 'Best of the Fest’ at the Windrush Caribbean Film Festival. The film is still currently on the festival circuit.
