Biography

Jo is an award-winning film and tv director. She is currently in production on the feature documentary ‘OWEN’ about the life and tragic death of Wrestling superstar Owen Hart. The film has been shooting in New York, Las Vegas and Calgary. The film is being Produced by Lee Brazier (Yesterday) and is a Canadian Co-production. SLASH from Guns'N'Roses is the Executive Producer. Her debut drama feature film ECHOLALIC is in pre-production with Erebus Pictures produced by Helen Simmons and Stephanie Aspin (Hoard). Jo wrote and directed the observational documentary #sugarwater following the first ever performance of a Deaf and disabled theatre company (Graeae) at the National Theatre. Nicola Daley (Pin Cushion/Handmaid's Tale) was DOP and Adam Gough (ROMA) was editor. The film premiered at the St Louis International Film Festival (named as one of 25 key films.) The film was released on Amazon Prime and Apple TV and on DVD via Amazon. Her adaptation of DH Lawrence’s fantasy children’s short 'The Rocking Horse Winner' called 'Lady Luck' screened at over 40 film festivals, winning 8 awards (Exec Producer Ameenah Ayub Allen (Rocks) , Producer Vic Bavister (County Lines). She wrote and produced the children’s short animated stop motion film (Flower and the Girl) which premiered at the OSCAR qualifying LA Short International FF. Recently she directed Episode 3 of Season 3 of 'Ren -The Girl with the Mark' The award winning and popular fantasy web series which has received over 10 million views. Jo is a member of Cinesisters and Bafta Connects.
