Biography

John Dower is a Film Director, working in Film, Television and Video Games. 
Film School trained (Northern Film School, Leeds & Polish National Film School, Lodz), John's films have been screened at over 70 film festivals worldwide and won multiple awards including “KAYLA”, which won Best Short Film at St Albans Film Festival 2018 and "THE DAY AFTER STONEWALL DIED" which won Best Short Film at the Cannes Short Film festival 2014 among many others.
He is developing a feature adaptation of "KAYLA" with writer Leigh-Anne Gilbert and Producer Myf Hopkin with the BFI and the TV adaptation of teen novel "GIRL MISSING" with writer /Producer Diane Whitley.
He has extensive experience of directing Television Drama with credits including SILENT WITNESS for BBC1, WOLFBLOOD for CBBC/ZDF and EASTENDERS, CASUALTY, GRANGE HILL, MAKE MY DAY, JINX & THE BILL among his other credits. 
John's work in interactivity and Video Games sees him currently working for SABER INTERACTIVE as Cinematics Director on SPACE MARINE 2, part of the Warhammer 40,000 Universe. He directed motion capture and Voice for the James Bond Video game "007 LEGENDS" for EON/Activision, PROJECT MILO for Lionhead/Microsoft and has directed voice on over 20 games. 
He runs a Motion Capture training and consultancy company www.themocapvaults.com with prolific Mocap actor Oliver Hollis-Leick, running classes and workshops all over the world.
