Biography
BAFTA & RTS Nominated Senior/Series Producer Director, self-shooting & crews, based in Glasgow and London, with a CV packed with high rating prime time access and character driven Obs Docs, Specialist Factual, Popular Factual and Fact Ent credits for the BBC and Channel 4. Have also produced and directed several series. Please see my CV for full details.
If you're looking for a safe pair of hands and a mature filmmaker then please don't hesitate to call. Key skills include great editorial judgement, handling compliance protocols through pre-production until final delivery, working with on screen talent (new & established), securing/managing access and managing busy teams. Devising, planning and shaping new singles/series is what I enjoy the most. And I excel at working with multiple storylines across different episodes.
I prefer to take productions into the edit but do take on shooting-only roles sometimes. I shoot to an exceptionally high standard and have my own Sony F55 Camera/Lighting/Sound kit that I hire out at an ultra competitive rate.
Many of the documentaries I've made involved a working with challenging circumstances, fast moving stories, handling sensitive subject matter and building strong relationships with vulnerable contributors. And, while the subject matter varies, transformative journeys are a common theme in my work and always of particular interest.
At the lighter end of my range, I'm always up for working on food-based programmes. I've made several over the years and it was also a 5* family restaurant business so grew up with lots of tasty delights...it's a world I'm especially comfortable in.
While I started my own production company in 2018, winning a first commission for BBC ONE Scotland's 9pm documentary slot, (Shedding The Fat), I'm also still freelancing and really enjoy working with other indies or in-house.
