Miranda Howard-Williams

Miranda is a director working in television drama with a portfolio of award winning short films. She has recently directed 2nd Unit for the major new Chris Lang series I, Jack Wright. Miranda's scenes feature in all six episodes of the show which will air in 2025. Her director credits include The Sister Boniface Mysteries for Britbox International and UKTV, Casualty and Holby City for BBC One and six episodes across multiple series of flagship BBC One period drama Father Brown. She began as a returning director on flagship daytime drama Doctors - after gaining a place on the coveted BBC New Directors Scheme. ​ Miranda's award winning short films explore a range of social issues, from homelessness to the impact of porn on teenagers. Her last short Evie, which she also wrote, forms the pilot for a near-future TV series that's in development. It premiered at Encounters Film Festival and won Best SciFi Short at Rhode Island Film Festival. ​ Academically, Miranda has a MA (2.1 Hons) in Social and Political Sciences from Cambridge University where she received a scholarship for her studies. She also has an MA with Merit in Directing for Film and TV from the University of Westminster, for which she was awarded a full academic scholarship.
