Biography
Clive's most recent film 'The Poet Who Loved the War: Ivor Gurney' has recently been broadcast on BBC Four and is currently showing across at various festivals across the UK.
His work spans theatre, film and television over 30 years. He won a scholarship to RADA, directed and acted in the professional theatre for almost a decade before studying Film and gaining First Class Honours. His authored short films were consistently selected for international film festivals. In 1993 he was talent spotted by the BBC where he directed arts documentaries and drama. Since turning freelance he has written and directed short films, written two full-length screenplays and made factual programmes for all of the major broadcasters.
In parallel with film and television projects Clive lectures in all aspects of filmmaking especially scriptwriting, directing, working with actors and documentary filming.
While filming in New York in 1997 he happened upon a play in a small Lower East Side theatre called 'The Vagina Monologues'. He promptly secured the rights, successfully producing it in London from where it has gone on to become an international hit.
In recent years he has written and directed ''The Man Who Makes Clouds Disappear' a profile of the actor Victor Spinetti with interviews from Sir Paul McCartney, Barbara Windsor, Rob Brydon and the writer, James Graham.
In 2012 he produced 3 'Random Acts' short films for Channel 4. Currently co-writer/director on the comedy-drama 'Tongues' shortly due to make one film for a BBC2 WWI series.
