Personal Profile Having many years experience as a director, I am creatively minded and highly skilled with a broad base of production knowledge. I am able to professionally manage a production, and crew, effectively and enthusiastically. My involvement in producing successful programme’s with exciting content shows my passion and commitment to programme making. I feel that my most recent work on Strange Hill High has borne this out. 2013- Present Senior Director Strange Hill High (Series 2) • Live action rod puppet children’s entertainment series. A ground breaking show mixing vinyl toys and blockbuster aesthetics. Covering all aspects of scripts, preproduction, filming and post production, to deliver an outstanding programme. (BBC) 2011- 2012 Director Strange Hill High • Kidscreen Award winner. • BAFTA nominated. • Broadcast Award nomination. (BBC) 2010- 2011 Studio Director Raa Raa the Noisy Lion • Stop motion children’s entertainment series. Taking episodes through the production process within the studio, while overseeing and managing departments to deliver a high quality programme, also dialogue and script editing; and camera scripting of episodes. (Chapman Entertainment) 2008- 2010 Studio Director Roary the Racing Car • Stop motion children’s entertainment series. During this period I also animated segments of ‘Peter Kay’s All Star Animated Band’. (Chapman Entertainment) 2007- 2008 Animator Roary the Racing Car • Stop motion children’s entertainment series. Taking directors instruction and animating to a high standard to achieve the requirements of the shot, while giving character and emotion to puppets. (Chapman Entertainment) 2007 Director Bob the Builder ‘Race to the Finish’ • Stop motion Bob the Builder feature length special. Oversaw all aspects of pre production, from initial story discussions to shooting in studio: instructing all departments, directing camera and animators; through to post production using facilities on and off site. (Hot Animation) 2007 Storyline Writer Bob the Builder ‘The First Snow’ • Bob the Builder 30 minute special. Contributed story content: storylines, characters, situations and premise. (Hot Animation) 2006 Director Life on Mars intro • Stop motion opening sequence to an episode of the critically acclaimed, BAFTA winning BBC drama series. Worked closely with Kudos Productions to ensure that as a client their aims were achieved while surpassing their expectations. (BBC/Kudos) 2005 – 2006 Director Bob the Builder ‘Built to be Wild’ • Stop motion hour long Bob the Builder feature length musical special. Of note on this project was working with a chorographer for the musical segments. • Theatrically released. Winner of Children’s Best Programme Award at Home Entertainment Week Awards of Excellence. 2006 Bob the Builder ‘Built to be Wild’. Only theatrically released Bob the Builder special. Winner of iParenting Awards Excellent Product- DVD category. 1997 Nickelodeon Idents. 2 Promax International Silver Medallion Awards. 1996 Old Bear Stories. BAFTA award winning series. 1994 Paul McCartney, Buddy Holly Pop Promo Competition. 1st Prize (joint winner). Stop motion animated promo for the song ‘Everyday’. Screened on national television and at various festivals.
